This module is designed as an enhancement of Module 01 and is only carried out when students have successfully completed that module.
Introduction:
The course is designed to provide:
- A practical enhancement to Module 01 to enable the student
to carry out a rescue using a pre-selected rescue equipment.
The equipment will be chosen specifically to suit the client's
situation.
- A knowledge of alternative
types of rescue equipment.
Course Syllabus:
In addition to the theory elements of Module 01 the following
topics will also be covered:
- The importance of personal safety while carrying out a
rescue
- The problems associated with suspension trauma
- The importance of casualty management.
In addition to the practical elements of Module 01 the following topics will also be covered.
- Correct fitting and adjustment of fall arrest harnesses by all
students.
- The use of fall arrest lanyards.
- The use of double fall arrest lanyards.
- The use of a rescue kit with raising and lowering
capabilities.
- Raising a casualty back to safety.
- Lowering a casualty down to safety.
Course Summary:
In addition to the test carried out in Module 01 all students
will be monitored by the trainer throughout the practical
sessions. Any concerns will be addressed by the students and trainer on a continual basis.
The rescue will be carried out in stages and if at any point the trainer is unhappy with the standard attained then the student will be unable to continue. If the matter is resolved then the student may re-join the course.
Feedback to client after course:
Certificate for all students, valid for three years
Photo ID card for all students, valid for three years.
Photo ID to be issued after the successful completion of
each module.
Records to be maintained by Safety Systems:
Certificates for all students, valid for three years.
Photo ID card to be issued after successful
completion of each module.
All Safety Systems training courses meet the ANSI standard for safety training published by the American Society of Safety Engineers; ANSI/ASSE A490.0-2001.

- -Workers who work at height on a semi-regular basis.
- Managers/Foremen of workers at height.
- Safety managers.
- Facility engineers who hire contractors who work at height.
